Welcome to the Colorado Chapter
The Centennial State’s natural resources make it an attractive location for some key industries, including agriculture, food & beverage, and tourism. Colorado is also well known for its innovation in renewable energy, climate tech, IT, and aerospace.
On top of favorable economic benefits for businesses, the Mile High City also offers a high quality of life with the Rocky Mountains close by, a dry climate, and over 300 days of sunshine per year. Therefore, it is not surprising that many Germans have moved to Colorado over the years. Approximately 20-30% of Coloradans have German heritage. The GACC-CO organizes regular professional networking and cultural events such as the Denver Christkindlmarket to bring the German-American community together.
History & Network
In the early 80s, a group of German American professionals came together and formed the German American Trade Association to support trade between Germany and Colorado. In 1990 the organization was renamed the German American Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Chapter and became part of the network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs), through its affiliation with the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest in Chicago. As part of the GACC USA, the Colorado Chapter belongs to an extensive network members and National Partners in the US. The GACCs are also an integral part of the AHK network with 140 offices in 92 countries around the globe.
